With the theme of “Chinese Culture, World Heritage”, the “Stories of China Retold in English Challenge" provides a platform for global youths to promote cultural exchange and communication in ways of speaking and recitation etc., as well as to showcase achievements of international Chinese language education. More than 20 students from International College participating in this contest, including Kaja, Li Sha and Xie Tianyi,fully displayus their knowledge and understanding of Chinese arts, Chinese values and Chinese culture in three forms of recitation, self-introduction and story writing and retelling. After the preliminary round, 6 students, including Chen Xinming and Ma Jiayi, successfully advanced to the intermediate round. After fierce competition in the intermediate round, Li Sha finally got to the advanced round of the competition.
Sinceits debutin 2020, the “Stories of China Retold in English Challenge” has been hosted for three years by China Education Television and New Channel International Education Groupandhas been widely praised and supported by communities. This year, with the theme of Chinese Culture, World Heritage, the 3rdevent invites global youth to attend this cultural feast and conduct a contest of wits. Thisyear’schallenge attracts more than 260,000 young people from home and abroad to participate,includingdomesticinternationalstudentsfrom121 countries and regions around the world.
