Welcome, new students!
As summer passed and autumn comes, over 300 overseas students from nearly 90 countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Russia arrived at Southwest University from September 9to 10. They come together from all over the world with passion and dreams to start a new life in SWU.
In order to ensure the effective and orderly registration of the new students, the International College has carried out rigorous and meticulous preparations in advance.International students, for the first time, were included in the orientation, a one-stop registration center was set up considering the characteristics of international students, and dozens of Chinese and foreign volunteers were organized to form a team of “Orientation Ambassadors” to participate in the orientation activities.
On the day of the orientation, several international student volunteers waited early at the freshman reception point of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport Terminal 3, holding signboards and guiding the new students to the Beibei campus by bus.The care and enthusiasm of the volunteers are prerequisites for the smooth arrival of the new students. They gave the new students warm care and help, showing the friendship and mutual help of students in SWU.
After arriving at the university, international freshmen first came to the orientation center. The staff and volunteers of the International College distributed the "Registration Process Sheet", campus cards and well-prepared gift packs for freshmen at the third sports ground, and assisted them in applying for Chinese phone cards to help them integrate into the school family quickly and smoothly.New students held up the placards to record their first meeting with the university.With infinite expectations and longings, they started their new life in Southwest University.
International freshmen took the campus sightseeing bus to the freshman reception of international student apartments. Volunteers warmly helped freshmen with on-campus accommodation, guided them to join dormitory Wechat Groups and assisted them in buying bedding, etc., so that international students could feel convenient, fast and warm one-stop service.
After placing their large luggage in the dormitory, the new students once again took the campus sightseeing bus to the lecture hall of the International College——2023 International Freshmen Registration One-stop Service Area: issue payment notice, charge and guide students to purchase insurance and apply for residence permit so that the registration could be faster and smoother. The kind care of the teachers, the patient guidance of the volunteers, and the clear, fast process guidance make the registration orderly and warm, which not only reflects the efficiency of SWU, but also shows the warmth of SWU.
